Hi! I am a Doctor of Social Work and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 16 years of clinical practice working with children, adolescents, and families, as well as 8 years of experience in non-profit executive leadership development. I am passionate about mental health and youth advocacy. As a trauma-informed clinician and practitioner, I center my practice on the understanding that rest is resistance and that living in a capitalistic society creates an imbalance for humans. I value human relationships and honor my clients' lived experiences as we work together to change their narratives. I have worked in many clinical settings, including inpatient psychiatric care, private practice, and in-home community care. I am also a Certified Clinical Supervisor. After graduating from SUNY New Paltz in 2005 with a double major in Black Studies and Psychology, I earned my MSW from Columbia University and a Doctorate in Social Work from Simmons University. Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at EDNI Counseling Services with nearly 7 years of experience working in outpatient settings. I have primarily worked with high-risk adults and individuals living with severe mental illness, and while I truly value that work, I am also excited to expand and support adolescents. A little bit about me: I am originally from the Caribbean (Haiti, to be exact) which has inspired my love for traveling and experiencing different cultures. In my free time, I enjoy reading (I’m a big Harry Potter fan), going to the gym, spending time in nature, and being with loved ones. I’m also a proud dog mom to a sweet 3-year-old Labrador mix. My journey into counseling began as a pivot during my college years, but it quickly became clear that I was exactly where I was meant to be. I’ve always known I wanted a career in the helping profession, and counseling has been incredibly rewarding. I have experience working in outpatient settings with individuals facing complex mental health challenges, particularly those with severe and persistent mental illness. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, and navigating life transitions and adjustments. My counseling style is person-centered, supportive, and collaborative. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to help clients build insight, develop coping skills, and work toward meaningful change. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. Whether you are navigating a difficult period, managing mental health challenges, or working toward personal growth, I am here to support you every step of the way.
